The Artist

With her work, Katrin tries to invite people to look differently or more intensely at the world around us. Katrin observes man in all his weaknesses, exposing an intimate side in all her works. To HER, the world is not what it seems and so she searches, probes and unravels until uncovering the essence.

Her themes are deeply human and bring out all the hidden traits of character: shame, frustration, anger, fear, arrogance, pain, jealousy, doubt... She often depicts these feelings through strange behavioural patterns, holding up a mirror to viewers and confronting them with their own vulnerability. 

She tries to address not only intimate subjects but also social issues. For instance, by building installations in which she addresses a theme, situation or social problem.
